Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Great Tech School and Hub handles your personal information.

Who we are

Great Tech School and Hub (GTS) is a technology education programme based in Nigeria. This policy explains what we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you sign in we receive the email address and name from your Google account, and we ask for a phone number so the office can reach you about your programmes. The phone number is optional — you can decline and still use the site — and it is not verified, so treat it as contact information rather than as proof of identity. We also record which programmes you are enrolled in so we know who is attending, and the date you last signed in. A separate, older public registration form also collected a date of birth, the devices you planned to learn on, your experience level and an optional photo. That form is closed and no longer collects anything. We still hold the records it collected before it closed, and they are covered by this policy.

Why we collect it

We use this information to administer the programmes you register for, to contact you about those programmes, to keep an accurate record of who holds a place, and to keep the site secure. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.

How sign-in works

We use Google to sign you in. Google confirms that you control the email address; we never see or store your Google password. Any Google account can create an account here — we do not check your address against a student list before letting you in, and we do not ask for a student ID. What Google proves is that you control a real inbox, not that you are enrolled at GTS. If you sign in successfully, we issue our own secure session cookie so you stay signed in.

Where your information is stored

Student records are stored in a Supabase database, which also handles sign-in. We do not keep a second copy in a spreadsheet, and we do not send your details anywhere else. Access to the database is limited to authorised GTS administrators.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it only with service providers who host our infrastructure and only to the extent needed to operate the site, and where the law requires us to disclose it.

How long we keep it

We keep your registration and enrolment records for as long as you are a GTS student and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can verify your participation. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to records we are required to keep.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details on our contact page and we will respond.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored because we do not use passwords. Access to the database is restricted to administrators who need it.

Children

Our programmes are intended for students aged 13 and over. Students below 18 need a parent or guardian to agree to this policy and to our terms on their behalf. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us information without your agreement, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the programme changes. The current version is always published on this page.

If anything here is unclear, or you want to ask about your information, get in touch through our contact page.
